Summer Is Under Way!!!!

Well, the boys are all done with school, but if I thought summer would be a bit calmer I was crazy!!! The first few weeks of summer are already very busy and scheduled with many activities. The first weekend Matt had off from school he spent it in Nebraska at a Tri-state soccer tournament. It included teams from Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas. Tom and Matt had a boys weekend...Friday was spent driving, eating and finding the hotel. Saturday a full day of soccer games and of course a bit of goofing off which included a bunch of teenager hanging out in their hotel room playing games. Sunday another 1/2 day of soccer, a awards ceremony and a drive back to Kansas. Needless to say Matt spent all day Monday recovering from the trip!!!! It was a good time and his team took 3rd place!!!! Ryan and Josh have all ready started some fun summer activities!!! Monday mornings for the next 8 weeks they will have junior golf... I can hear the challenges coming Toms way!! Ryan also has soccer camp this week and Josh has tennis camp for the next two weeks. We have made it to the pool a few times already, since it has been very warm, and the boys are asking to go to a water park or two, so summer is off and running with a crazy start!!!!

Summer Is Almost Here!!!

Ok...I have been a bad blogger lately!!! My sister Robin tells me all the time you should blog that...see you do have things to blog about!!! Then I think yeah I do...then I sit down and can't remember a single thing to blog about. Well hopefully I will get better about it. We are two weeks away from summer vacation starting and I sure am ready! After the spring we have had, Joshua breaking his arm and Matts car accident, its time to just veg out!!! I'm ready to put the backpacks away, ready to stop helping with book reports and most of all I'm ready to stop sending stuff to school...I swear every other day a note comes home to send this or that or to make this or that. This week on top of the spelling lists and book reports we had to make a bubble maker ( a bubble maker come on I'm a mom not and inventor.....but if anyone wants to know you can google this and find out how to make one) and this weekend we will have to make a solar cooker ( at least the teachers sent home directions for this project) and send marshmallows to school so they can make S'mores!!! No wonder I'm so tired all the time its never ending!!! Soon it will be time to sleep in, watch movies and hang out by the pool. The end of the school year will be a little bitter sweet this year because we as a family are officially out of the grade school years....my babies are growing up!!!! Maybe next year I will be able to think fondley of having to make bubble makers and solar cookers since most of those kind of things are done when they are in grade school. Then I will be saying remember when we had to make a bubble maker and not where the heck do I find out how to make a bubble maker!!! The next big milestone will be in two years when Ryan enters high school and Matt graduates...cant believe that is only two years away. I know that it will be here in the blink of an eye, so I am going to make sure the boys and I enjoy this summer even if its just hanging out and playing with the bubble maker!!!!!

Wife, Mother, RN......and Juror #10?

January turned out to be another busy month. At the beginning of the month I got one of those dreaded notes from the court house...You are officially summoned for JURY DUTY please report to the court house on January 26th at 8:30am. At first I was like oh crud but then decided it could be interesting and Tom insisted that I would get picked to be on a jury. So on the 26th I showed up at the court house, watched a video on what it means to be a juror and then was taken with 50 other would be jurors to a court room. It would take all day of listening to and being questioned before they would narrow it down to the final 12 jurors and just as Tom had thought I was one of the 12 selected...I am now juror #10 on a criminal case. We were told the case would last a week and we came back the next day to listen to testimony. The next day we returned only to find out a fellow juror had fallen the night before on the ice and broke her ankle. So for now our case has been recessed until Feb. 17th when we will return to finish the case. Needless to say throwing something like this in with going to work, being busy with the kids, and Tom traveling for his job January and February are going to be crazy. Going through this has been interesting and a learning experience showing me that no matter how crazy or unfair I think my life is at the moment someone else has it rougher...I guess just one more of life little lessons!!!

New Year... Same Old Routine

Christmas break is officially over and the kids start back to school tomorrow morning. Back to setting alarm clocks, getting up early, running to classes, practicing the instruments (time to pull out the Motrin), picking kids up, running here and there and of course all that HOMEWORK!!! Its amazing how fast two weeks can go!!! On Christmas Eve we went to church and then went to Kristin and Joe's to spend time with our family. The picture is of all the cousins together, one is not soo excited about the picture but all were excited to open presents. We had a quiet Christmas day with the boys and our fury children too. The dogs thought the wrapping paper was the greatest present ever!!! The boys got the Wii they asked for from Santa and Tom and I had just as much fun playing it as the boys did. In the last month we had two surprises, that two of my sisters are expecting babies this summer. Looking ahead to the next nine months I am excited for my sisters!!! Kristin will be experiencing the new mom thing for the first time and Samantha is a old pro with number 3 on the way. It will make family get togethers that much noisier and busy!!! It is exciting to have two great blessings to look forward to in the next year. So hold on I'm sure 2009 will be quite the ride!!!
